WIth the huge popularity of Texas Holdem, thanks to the World Series of Poker on ESPN, a large number of players from all over the world are playing poker online. If you intend to play online poker please be aware that the games go by very fast and you can play hundreds of hands in a very short time. This tends to make any weak spots in your game huge liabilities. So pick a limit that you can affford to play and perhaps lose at. You can always play for fun at any of these sites to get a feel for the interface. It is your money to lose, or win, play responsibly.
We presently have reviews of the following online poker rooms.
What can I say about Ultimate Bet. When I first switched to Ultimate Bet I had come from PokerStars. Since PokerStars is almost minimalistic in the graphical layout I found Ultimate Bet's interface to be a little cluttered. The competition was weaker that elsewhere or perhaps I was lucky but I won a few hands so I stayed around. Since that introduction Ultimate Bet has become my most commonly played site.
The Ultimate Software is nice. I set the table options to a plain back background and that helps eliminate needless clutter.
Ultimate Bet usually seems to have a first deposit Bonus and sometimes a redeposit bonus. See the website or the client software for details.
Ultimate Bet displays average pot size, number of hands per hour and percentage of players seeing the flop. This is nice because it allows you to assess the nature of a table before you sit down
The interface also allows you to see hand history imediately instead of waiting for an email. Statistics and tournament information are also available in real time.
